Association Background
At an organizational meeting held at the Stone Lake Pool clubhouse on Oct. 24, 2005. Residents got an opportunity to hear about the formation of the organization, and to ask questions and begin to volunteer for offices and committees.
The results of the September survey of residents were presented and the primary items on the “wish-list” included improved neighborhood signage, offering assistance to elderly neighbors, holding more social events, and creating a community focus on improving and maintaining property appearance, especially by absentee landlords. It was the general consensus of the group to push ahead quickly to finalize officers and membership.
We also have enthusiastic volunteers signing up for the various committees. Our old neighborhood motto (I bet you didn’t know we had one!) was “Service is the rent we pay for the space we occupy.” We can’t have a strong association or accomplish as much as we hope without residents’ service and participation, so please give strong consideration to how you can help. In particular, our “Beautification and Barn-raising” and “Social” committees will need lots of willing participants to organize, and we’ll all be needed to help execute the plans. Many hands make the load lighter. If you’re interested in helping plan in these areas or others, include a note when you pay your dues. We’ll be calling on you!
